This report showcases a Participatory Action Research project that lasted 26 months. It reports on Corporate Social Responsibility tools that companies and governments promote to ensure good corporate behaviour. The report looks at the extent to which CSRs respect human and ethnic rights in theory and practice. Recommendations are given for ways to strengthen current approaches and frameworks. Issues are presented through a variety of perspectives.
This workshop had the objectives of facilitating the exchange of experiences, reflections and contributions on the topic of Free, Prior and Informed Consultation in extractive projects in Colombia and to move reflections and criteria forward regarding minimum standards for FPIC with Indigenous and afro peoples in Colombia.
In this document the learnings from the collaborative project "on consultation and consent". It summarizes the issues brought up by multiple Indigenous Peoples that participated in the process. It highlights the importance of the themes of land titling, acknowledgement of ancestral lands, and the resistance to government and industry pressures.
